In the spring of 2002 I started working with Dragon NaturallySpeaking professional solutions. After some
training time I was able to literally work handsfree and nowadays I always dictate my translations.

DNS works with virtually all Windows-based applications. You can dictate text and use voice commands to let
DNS take some action other than typing the words you just spoke. The professional edition allows you to
create your own voice commands and this can be very important, because it facilitates working with
applications like WordFast and TransSuite. I will try to give you more specific information about this in
the future.
system requirements
For optimal performance in combination with other applications running on your system, Scansoft recommends
an Intel Pentium III / 500 MHz processor (or equivalent AMD processor) or faster and 256 MB RAM. Personally I
would advise you not to economise on RAM.
You will also need a Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 or equivalent sound card and a noise-cancelling headset
microphone. If your sound card does not meet the requirements, you can also opt for a USB headset.
These kind of head sets provide high fidelity, digital quality sound input without the need for a sound
card.
